Sixth Form
As students move into Key Stage 5 (KS5) at DBSJP, the focus sharpens on the pursuit of academic excellence, preparing them for successful university admissions and future careers. Our KS5 curriculum is designed to challenge and inspire, enabling students to stand out in university applications. Students entering our Sixth Form can choose from three pathways based on their interests, pathways, and performance at GCSE these are:
- Pure A-level route (three or four A-level subjects with prior approval)
- Hybrid route (combining BTEC subjects and A-levels)
- BTEC only route

A Strong Academic Focus A-levels: Students choose from a wide range of subjects, allowing them to specialise in areas of interest and strength. Our offerings include Sciences, Mathematics, Humanities, Languages, Arts, and Social Sciences.
Super Curriculum Extended Project Qualification (EPQ): Students undertake a research project, developing independent study skills, critical thinking, and academic writing.
Enrichment Programmes Activities such as debating, public speaking, Model United Nations (MUN), and academic competitions enhance intellectual growth and personal development.
Leadership Opportunities Roles in student leadership and community service projects help develop leadership skills and a sense of responsibility.
University and Career Preparation University Guidance: Comprehensive support with university applications, including personal statement workshops, interview preparation, and guidance on choosing the right courses and institutions.
Career Counselling Tailored advice on career paths and professional development, including internships, work experience placements, and networking opportunities.
